May 5 is Children's Day specially for boys in Japan. Our neighbors are kind enough to share their decorations for Sukla.
Koinobori (meaning "carp streamer" in Japanese, are carp-shaped wind socks traditionally flown) came to our house from H-san, whcih were used for his son when he was a child. While, Okimura family told me to take Sukla's photos in front of their great Gogatsu Ningyo (traditional dolls specially for this day) decorations.
As for Umeo, she enjoys the decorations a lot. Boy or girl doesn't matter, grow up in good health and mind, kids!

5月5日は子どもの日。我が家のご近所さんが、（す）のために色々祝ってくれるのが嬉しい。
我が家に、Hさん宅から鯉のぼりが届きました。Hさんが息子が子どもの頃に飾っていたものです。沖村家も、床の間に飾った立派な五月人形の前で（す）の写真をお撮りなさい、と声をかけてくれます。
（う）だって、こうした飾りが大好きで大はしゃぎ。男の子でも女の子でも、心も体も健やかに育て、子たちよ。
